NYC biking on a lovely day

did a bk heights/DUMBO cruise on a spectaular day – lower 70′s small clouds cruisin by, gentle breeze, food touring, small pre-NYC bike tour bike expo, chillin’ & eating.  all of this and back home in time for pancakes.

1st c/t lug back from paint

bryan from fresh frame really knows how to get the job done.   I’ll have to take more photos of this for you all to enjoy, then build it up and shoot it again when it has some parts on it.  There will be a mix of old and new going on it;  original deore dx derailleurs (yes, the original bombproof ones (yes, more bombproof than those crappy components they called “bombproof” from the 90′s (shoulda called them ladyfinger proof (sorry to do all these nested parenthesi)))).

c/t lug just about ready

for paint.  Gotta add headbadge and clean it up a little.

Tubes!

Mix of Nova Double Butted and Columbus Life to go on Noah’s Ride.  Stay tuned for the build process.  Probably to commence shortly after Moundy Thursday/QEII’sBirthday/Earth Day/Good Friday/UK Bank Holiday/Holy Saturday/St. George’s Day/Easter Sunday/Pascha/Holy Monday/ANZAC Day holiday weekend.  whew.

new bike, new lugs

Here are some lugs for a new custom bike build to commence shortly.  I just had to post these b/c they’re very nice – fine attention to detail, built well and should cleanup without fuss.  It’ll be going on Noah’s bike  – with custom decals, frame will be a hardcore everyday rider/commuter/errand runnerwith an additional peppering of style.

c/t lug bike

workin a bit on some finishing  -  i like the way this one’s coming out.  It’ll be painted a blue-green-grey, flaky, glossy blend.  had a redesign on the chainstays – went from a hard angle cap to a relaxed cap style <<< those are totally my words and no one else probably understands what that means.

long time, no post

Just going along building another cafetour in the lugged style.  This one has slightly fancier lugs, which I’m excited about.  Perhaps I’ll do a fancy seatstay termination at the seat tube.  Something convex comes to mind.  Straight chainstays are on, which do allow for 700×32 tires with fenders.  How? well, the chainstays are 455mm long, to allow for a full-loaded pannier excursion.
